My Review
Oh my goodness, I simply have to tell you about this utterly charming book I just discovered! As someone who's always been fascinated by both Irish folklore and unusual romance stories, finding "Love and Peacock Gods" felt like stumbling upon a hidden treasure. I mean, a peacock shifter? How delightfully original!
I curled up with this book and my favorite tea, expecting a typical paranormal romance, but what I got was something so much more delightful. The story follows Tara, an American photographer in Ireland, and Declan, our dashing peacock shifter hero. The way their paths cross at the wildlife park is both hilarious and heartwarming – I found myself giggling out loud more times than I care to admit!
What truly captured my heart was the perfect balance of humor and genuine emotion. The cultural misunderstandings between the American and Irish perspectives added such authentic charm to the story. And can we talk about how refreshing it is to have a lighter paranormal romance? So many these days are all doom and gloom, but this one keeps things playful while still maintaining enough tension to keep you turning pages.
I particularly appreciated how the author handled the fated mates trope. Instead of feeling forced or overly dramatic, it felt natural and sweet. The word play and peacock-related humor had me in stitches – though I'll admit some of the puns were delightfully groan-worthy!
If I had one small disappointment, it would be that I wished the story was longer. I became so invested in these characters and their world that I wasn't ready to say goodbye when it ended. Also, while I enjoyed the clean romance aspect, some readers might find it a bit too tame if they're expecting steamy scenes.
Would I recommend this book? Absolutely! It's perfect for anyone needing a smile or looking for a paranormal romance that doesn't take itself too seriously. It's like a warm hug in book form, with added feathers and charm.
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐½ (4.5 out of 5 stars)
To sum up, this book is as unique as a peacock in a penguin parade, and twice as entertaining. Just make sure you have some snacks ready – you won't want to put it down once you start!

Book Description
American photographer Tara Lynch has never wanted anything more than to visit Ireland—but her itinerary didn’t include chasing peacocks around a wildlife park! On the other hand, it didn’t include meeting a tall, handsome Irishman and falling head over heels for him in a heartbeat, either, so it might be time for Tara to re-think what makes a perfect holiday.
Peacock shifter Declan McCarthy, a local artist, certainly didn’t expect to meet his fated mate during an afternoon at the park, but when his secret shifter self is revealed to Tara the very first time they meet, he wants nothing more to sweep her off her feet. Tara is more than willing to be swept—but there’s a wicked fashion designer stealing peacock feathers straight off the birds at the park, and both Declan and Tara are determined to put a stop to it.
When Tara accidentally convinces the thief that she’s a ‘peacock whisperer,’ they realize they have the chance to scare the woman straight—and Declan’s peacock has a few giant ideas on how to do that!
Set against the backdrop of Ireland’s beautiful Blarney Castle, this charming, funny romcom with no cliffhangers is a cuppa for the soul!
