My Review

Here's my review as Farahilda: I stumbled across "Wolf Girl" during one of my late-night reading binges, and as someone who's always been drawn to stories about outsiders finding their place, I was immediately intrigued. Let me tell you, this book was quite the rollercoaster for my emotions – in both good and frustrating ways. First off, I absolutely adored the concept of a wolf shifter who's never been able to shift, forced to live in exile. As someone who's always felt a bit displaced myself, Demi's situation really spoke to me. The whole "Werewolf Bachelor" premise made me roll my eyes at first (in a good way!), but I found myself getting surprisingly invested in the drama of it all. What really captured my attention was the unique twist on wolf-shifting abilities – I won't spoil it, but let's just say it's not your typical werewolf story. The author managed to bring something fresh to a genre that can often feel repetitive. I also found myself genuinely laughing at Demi's snarky humor, even though sometimes her "not like other girls" attitude made me want to throw my kindle across the room. However, I did have some issues with the execution. The world-building felt a bit shallow at times (I mean, really? "Wolf City"?), and some of the character development left me wanting more. Sawyer, the love interest, while sweet, sometimes came across as rather bland – I kept waiting for him to develop more layers that never quite materialized. The romance was... well, it was sweet, but it occasionally ventured into eye-rolling territory with its insta-love elements. I appreciate a good romance, but I prefer when the connection feels more earned. Despite its flaws, I found myself unable to put the book down. It's like comfort food – not necessarily gourmet, but satisfying in its own way. Just be warned: the ending might make you want to howl in frustration (see what I did there?). I'd give this book 3.5 out of 5 stars. While it wasn't perfect, it provided an entertaining escape and enough unique elements to make me curious about the sequel. I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoys NA paranormal romance and doesn't mind some YA-ish vibes in their reading. Just maybe have the second book ready to go when you finish this one! ~Farahilda 🐺✨

Book Description

When my parents were banished from Wolf City before I was born, I thought there was no way I would ever live in a pack again. Cuffed, with my shifter magic bound, I was forced to go to school with witches in order to keep my true nature from coming out. Then I met him. Sawyer Hudson. The Alpha's son was visiting Delphi Witches' College and spotted me. He took one look at me, and an hour later, I was being pulled out of school, taken into Wolf City and leaving my parents and everything I knew behind. It's the Alpha's son's selection year, the year he must pick a mate, and every female aged 18-22 must be in attendance. I've landed myself in the middle of Werewolf Bachelor, and just when I think I've got a handle on things, Sawyer releases my cuffs, unbinds my magic, and sees what I really am. The problem is, I don't know what this creature is that I transform into. It's not an ordinary werewolf, that's for damn sure.
